With its inviting softness encased in a structure of architectural rigour, Gubi’s Elogio sofa is one of the most iconic designs to emerge from the vision of husband and wife Tobia and Afra Scarpa. Created in 1974, it introduced a new modular approach to home furnishings, capable of adapting naturally to different shapes, sizes and styles. Five decades later, Tobia Scarpa oversaw its reissue in collaboration with GUBI, delicately updating its geometry and comfort without betraying its original essence.
The outer shell, geometric and perfectly upholstered, accommodates the iconic interchangeable cushions that can be arranged in various ways — horizontally, vertically, identically or deliberately asymmetrically — offering great freedom of composition between the backrests and armrests. The sofa’s linearity is emphasised by the small, slender feet that discreetly raise the seats, whilst the new upholstery options, including the Reales and Fustagno fabrics, enhance its tactile and visual character.
Available as a fixed three- or four-seater or in a modular version, the Gubi Elogio sofa embodies a refined aesthetic that translates into a comfortable and sophisticated seating experience.
