Designed in 1950 by the iconic Greta M. Grossman, Gubi’s G-10 floor lamp combines refined, almost luxurious charm with a bold industrial character, creating a piece that appears both classic and surprisingly contemporary. Like many of the designer’s works, the G-10 was also produced in both the United States and Sweden: it is the Swedish version that inspires the current collection. The name reflects its history: it was the tenth project created by Grossman for the Scandinavian company Bergboms.
The lamp stands out for its shade, which diffuses a soft, pleasant light, and for its rough surface, which accentuates its materiality. The polished brass details, contrasting with the texture of the body, add a touch of brilliance and create a sophisticated balance. A particularly fascinating element is the stem, slightly inclined and curved, positioned off-centre at the base, introducing a dynamic and harmonious interplay between shapes, proportions and finishes.
In the living room, alongside sofas and armchairs, the Gubi G-10 floor lamp becomes an elegant and understated focal point: an object that defines the space with naturalness and intensity. Its light adapts to the different times of day, creating intimate and relaxed atmospheres, ideal for spaces dedicated to well-being and contemplation. A discreet yet striking icon, capable of bringing authentic and timeless modernity to interiors.
