Designed in 1963 by the influential Italian architect Carlo De Carli, Gubi’s Tavolo a Dischi dining table represents a refined fusion of form and function, where structural innovation, the expressive quality of the materials and practical excellence coexist in perfect harmony. Majestic and statuesque, this table celebrates the craftsmanship and precision of its construction, making it a unique decorative piece capable of making an elegant statement in any setting.
The round structure is crafted using an ingenious system of FSC® Mix-certified birch plywood discs, each 3 cm thick and of varying diameters, stacked around a concealed metal core. This layering creates a fluid, harmonious curve that supports a generous walnut veneer top, now available in two sizes. At the base, a steel band with a burnished brass finish introduces a sophisticated textural contrast and adds protection, completing the composition with a precious detail.
Designed to accommodate lunches, meetings or social gatherings, the Gubi Tavolo a Dischi dining table is destined to become the focal point of conviviality. Its dimensions, whilst maintaining a significant presence, are suitable for both spacious dining rooms and more intimate spaces, where it encourages conversation and creates a cosy atmosphere. Its sculptural charm also makes it ideal for lounge bars and high-end restaurants, where it stands out as an iconic piece of furniture brimming with personality.
