The Taccia Small table lamp was created in 1962 from the avant-garde designs of the Castiglioni brothers. Initially, the prototype was designed with a plastic lampshade, but there were problems with deformation caused by the heat of the bulb, so glass was chosen. In 2016 the Italian company Flos reproposes a new Taccia that corresponds to the original plastic prototype of the Castiglioni brothers.
The Taccia Small table lamp is characterised by a base and a cylindrical grooved aluminium body reminiscent of the shape and motif of Doric columns. The light bulb is inserted at the end of the stem and the light fades into the large, mouth-blown glass diffuser. The mouth of the diffuser is closed by a concave aluminium plate which reflects the light and amplifies its beam.
