The Noctambule floor lamp designed by Konstantin Grcic belongs to the new collection of lamps made of blown glass modules, which are transparent and become almost invisible in daylight. However, if they are lit in the dark, they turn into beautifully illuminated lamps. Cylindrically shaped glass modules are the foundation of the collection.
The single module is a lantern. Several overlapping modules create a column of light, or a chandelier for the stairwell. Other elements such as the glass dome or the cone-shaped head allow further performances such as a floor lamp and a pendant.
The accurate LED technology that lights the lamps is discreetly integrated into the joints between the glass modules. Almost imperceptible, but ready to be activated at nightfall.
The glass modules connect to each other to a height of 2.17 metres (85.43"). The cylindrical body and semi-sphere of transparent blown glass has a base and rings of die-cast aluminium and inner side arms of hydroformed steel with outer ring diffusers of injection-moulded opaline optical silicone. The length of the power cable is 2 metres (78.74") with a foot switch that allows dimming from 10% to 100% and vice versa.
