The Oskar table by B&B Italia is designed by Vincent Van Duysen and is a tribute to the hallmark of the great modernist architects, whose work is a combination of fluidity, sensuality and materiality, particularly Oscar Niemeyer, from whom it takes strong inspiration. This table, whose style is called "future classic", is basically made up of two pieces that appear to be separate: the frame and the top, the latter of which seems to float in mid-air, thanks mainly to the special workmanship of the legs, which are set slightly out of phase with the rest of the supporting structure. The different materials that make up the Oskar table enhance its constructional qualities, such as marble, glass, wood and satin or glossy lacquer. One finish used exclusively for this product is green cathedral glass: where a sheet of uncooled glass is laid on top of a metal sheet with an irregular surface that gives the characteristic movement of freshly applied concrete. The legs are also available in various colours of wood or painted. The Oskar table by B&B Italia is available in various sizes, always in the version with fixed top.
