The Bahia wall lamp by the Italian company Foscarini was created in collaboration with a young Milanese design studio. At the outset there was a desire to bring the imperfect harmony of natural elements into a project.
Bahia, a wall lamp by the Italian company Foscarini, starts from a very precise image, that of the aerial vision of exotic islands lost in the ocean. Bahia is structured with three superimposed plates in an interplay of discs and lights exploiting the reflection of the light element. The aim in building Bahia was to create a totemic, sculptural object for a work that is described by artificial light when switched on and by natural light and shadows when switched off. In order to soften the great impact of this lamp, the colour white is chosen to blend in with the walls and the home or place.
This fantastic piece of furniture can be placed either on the wall or on the ceiling.
Bahia by Foscarini Italia is a real amalgam of technology, aesthetics and reflection for a piece of furniture that breaks away from its main function to a more emotional concept that is that of a sculptural work. A human synthesis of what happens in nature: object struck by light.
