In designing the Fidelio series, Roberto Lazzeroni deliberately chose a minimalist design combined with precious materials: formal simplicity and sophisticated finishes for a versatile collection that can be easily combined with all other Poltrona Frau furnishings. Functional details become highly distinctive aesthetic elements, such as the recessed handles that graphically mark the surfaces. There is also an intense contrast between the warm, dark tones of the leather and wood that characterise the exteriors and the bright explosion of very light natural maple that is revealed in the compartments.
The supporting structure is made of solid ash wood and birch plywood with mocha-coloured ash veneer on the outside. Extra light natural maple brightens up the interior. The edges of the doors are made of solid mocha-stained ash wood.
The Fidelio sideboard by Poltrona Frau presented here and on display in our showroom has a mocha-stained ash and natural maple back with doors covered in extra-fine Saddle leather with a rope finish and a polished veined arabesque marble top.
