The Marcuso table is, to all intents and purposes, a constructively innovative piece of furniture, structurally detachable, designed and manufactured as a modern building. At the end of the Sixties, Marco Zanuso, "the project made person", came along. He took a look at the car deflector, the one with the locking pawl directly glued to the small mobile crystal, and imagined translating that technology to finally go beyond all the designers who had designed crystal tables with a traditional structure of legs and crosspieces.
Zanotta's Marcuso table traces the formal configuration of the object back to the fundamental geometries of the circle, square and rectangle. And once a suitable technology for direct welding of glass and steel was identified, the design research was oriented towards the solution of the connection system between the support leg and the support surface.
Thanks to its particular design, the Marcuso table by Zanotta is easy to place in living spaces and will certainly steal the eyes of every single guest.
