A historical and iconic model of the Poltrona Frau company, the 1919 armchair became a protagonist when Renzo Frau designed this beautiful piece of furniture for the Duke of Pistoia, Filiberto Emanuele Ludovico di Savoia.
The 1919 armchair is a customised reinterpretation of the classic bergére armchair. But with the addition of the famous Frau capitonnè on the back of the armchair, which gives character and strength to the whole image. A recognisable signature is the saucer with a lectern stand designed especially for the Duke, famous for his passion for cigars. The supporting structure is made of seasoned solid beech. The springing of the seat, backrest and armrests is achieved with hand-tied steel biconical springs fixed on jute straps. The finish of the wheels and metal parts can be gold or gunmetal. The upholstery is entirely made of Pelle Frau, a high-quality material that is very soft to the touch.
Over the years, Poltrona Frau's 1919 armchair has earned the privilege of being born in a numbered series, each piece being unique and destined only for its buyer. High-quality materials and generous dimensions provide comfort and elegance, allowing it to fit perfectly into any room in your home. The 1919 armchair by Poltrona Frau will steal the eyes of every single guest!
