Cassina celebrates Carlo Scarpa's entry into the iMaestri collection with a precious limited edition of 50 pieces of the Doge Laguna table, designed in 1968. The table retains the famous architectural base in aluminium or satin-finish steel, composed of thick flat profiles that lend solidity and presence, a distinctive feature of the original model and Scarpa's design language. The novelty lies in the extra-clear glass top, inspired by the ripples of Venetian waters and ancient glassmaking. The slab is sandblasted to achieve a matt effect and then recooked, a process that gives the surface a textured and vibrant appearance. The bevelled edge thins the rim, creating a transparent crystalline frame that contrasts elegantly with the satin-finished centre.
Available in two sizes, the Cassina Doge Laguna table surprises with its ability to combine craftsmanship and industrial materials, creating an object with a strong visual and conceptual impact.
