Cassina Gueridon J.M. is a multifunctional side table that combines elegance, practicality and historical memory. Designed in 1953 by Charlotte Perriand for the residence of her husband Jacques Martin, then director of Air France's Japanese division in Tokyo, the design was inspired by traditional Japanese floor trays used to serve meals during official ceremonies.
The stackable model stands out for its sinuous and functional lines, which still allow it to be used as a portable tray today. In the Cassina reissue, the structure is made of moulded fibreglass, replacing the original folded aluminium sheet. The leather upholstery, executed with masterful craftsmanship, underlines the sartorial care that distinguishes the company's work.
Two side openings visually lighten the structure and make it easier to grip, making the table easy to move and versatile in everyday use. Compact but full of personality, the Cassina Gueridon J.M. side table fits naturally into the living area, alongside sofas and armchairs as a surface for books, decorative objects or refreshments. A discreet yet refined accessory, capable of enriching the environment with a touch of cultured and functional design.
