The pleats on the armrests are a fitting conclusion to the rich capitonné workmanship of the upholstery, which is executed entirely by hand. The Chester armchair by Poltrona Frau has springing obtained with biconical steel springs, positioned by hand and fixed to jute straps on a seasoned beechwood supporting structure. The seat is upholstered in rubberised horsehair, while the backrest and armrests are made of hand-moulded vegetable horsehair. The seat cushions are made of goose down. The feet can be spherical or tall, in dark walnut-stained beech or black lacquered beech. They are also available in leather-covered wood.
