On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Max Huber's birth, Poltrona Frau pays homage to the famous Swiss graphic artist with Dizzy, a collection of rugs made by selecting from the archive two unpublished works on paper, respectively from 1936 and 1947. The original designs have remained unchanged in their proportions and line thicknesses and have simply been adapted to the size of the carpets. Poltrona Frau's Dizzy carpet is based on a design characterised by a series of cadenced lines, with a rhythm that symbolically recalls Dizzy Gillespie, one of the inventors of bebop and modern jazz.
This furnishing accessory is characterised by a motif made up of small broken lines in two different colours and arranged horizontally and vertically. The dashes start in the centre of the carpet and develop radially towards the outer sides, becoming thinner and longer. The carpets of Poltrona Frau's Dizzy collection are available in two sizes and four very elegant colours, two dark and two light.
The selection of raw materials is crucial in order to make the surface soft, resistant and at the same time bright. In fact, Poltrona Frau's Dizzy rug uses only 100% natural, top quality wool, which is carded and spun by hand. As a result, colours are absorbed unevenly, giving the colours a unique intensity.
