The 684 armchair by Cassina, designed by Mario Bellini, is an upholstered chair with a soft and welcoming profile, designed to enrich both the dining room and the living area with discreet elegance. Available with optional castors, it stands out for its sober and authentic style, an expression of the refined craftsmanship that has always distinguished Cassina.
Its compact design, embellished with subtle, upward-sloping edges, breaks with the conventions of traditional indoor seating, offering a contemporary and distinctive aesthetic. The polyurethane foam and polyester wadding padding ensures enveloping comfort, while the tubular steel frame with elastic strapping guarantees solid and lasting support.
Originally conceived in 1973 under the name Le Tentazioni, this armchair was created as an innovative response to the rigid, vertical models of the time. In its first version, the upholstery interacted dynamically with the internal structure, influencing its behaviour and enhancing its containment function. Today, thanks to the evolution of construction techniques, the design has been transformed into an even more comfortable seat, without losing the visual impact and aesthetic value of the original design.
With its fabric upholstery that skims the floor, the Cassina 684 armchair complements the most refined environments with natural elegance, inviting relaxation and conviviality.
