Cassina reinterprets the iconic Utrecht armchair from 1935 in a baby version, designed to offer ergonomics and comfort to little ones. Despite its smaller size, Utrecht Baby retains the essence of the original design: a composition of clean, distinct volumes that reflects Gerrit Rietveld's experimental vision and the principles of Neoplasticism.
The backrest, slightly inclined for optimal support, rests directly on the floor along with the deep, generously padded seat. The two armrests, shaped like inverted 'L', emphasise the rigorous, minimalist geometry that defines the armchair's aesthetic.
The supporting structure is made of poplar plywood, with polyurethane foam and polyester wadding padding to ensure enveloping comfort. The non-removable cover is available in fabric or eco-leather, enriched with decorative horse-shoe or zig-zag stitching, which enhances its craftsmanship.
Cassina Utrecht Baby is much more than a children's armchair: it is a small masterpiece of design, bringing avant-garde aesthetics to even the youngest spaces.
